This is where the BNSF transcon goes over the UP (ex-Rock Island, ex-Southern Pacific). It's one of the three remaining pieces of single track on the Clovis subdivision. Double-tracking will require massive earth-moving around the existing dam and cut. U.S.60 bridge over the UP is in the background, a couple of miles away.
