Railfanning and SFRH&MS convention trip to NM, TX, CO 2010

A July 2010 trip combining railfanning and a trip to the Santa Fe Railway Historical&Modeling Society's national convention in Denver, CO. Starting out in Albuquerque, I followed BNSF's Clovis Sub to Farwell, TX and back to Belen; then followed the ex-Santa tracks to Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Raton; along the Amtrak-only route into La Junta, CO; on to Pueblo and Colorado Springs, to finally end up in Denver. A trip to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden and a train ride on the Royal Gorge Route closed the major outdoor activities before the convention at the Doubletree Hotel in Stapleton. I drove almost 1.900 miles in my Chevy Tahoe, and shot more than 1.700 pictures along the way. Here's an excerpt:
