Almost everyone knows the Outer Banks of NC. Few know of the Inner Banks. This is a poor area left over from the days prior to commercial fishing. Residents still eek out a living on small boats and cast net shrimping, crabbing, or harvesting the oyster beds. None get rich. Most are fortunate to survive. All live in an area surrounded by salt marshes and rugged beauty. Every storm brings a flood but the hearty folks of the inner banks just rebuild and start over.
