In September of 2000, my wife and I took a trip up the Inland Passage. Rather than doing the traditional cruise ship junket, we elected to be more adventuresome and ride the Alaskan Marine Hwy Ferry System. This allowed us to jump off the ferry at small towns along the way (Ketchikan, Wrangell, Juneau, Sitka, Petersburg) and then catch the next one as it passed through a few days later.
