I've posted this image for a fellow RASC Halifax Centre member, Martial Thiebaux. Following a discussion on the local club list about our first astrophotos.
Martial's comments on the photo details are given below.
It was taken sometime in the late winter-early spring of 1953-54 at the focal plane of my 6" Newtonian hand guided with a piggy-backed smaller reflector. The film used was Dupont High Speed Panchromatic. The exposure time was not recorded but I now estimate (* see below) to be somewhere around 40 to 60 minutes. Tracking errors of about 1.5' are obvious.
