IC1848 in Hubble Palette

San Diego, CA

Eastern portion of IC1848, a.k.a. the Baby Nebula or Soul Nebula, a.k.a. Sharpless 2-199.
IC1848 also refers to the star cluster that is ionizing the surrounding gas.
Also visible is IC1871, the small nebula at the right edge of the frame. North is down.

Apogee U8300, APM 115/805 with FF32 field flattener.
Astrodon 3nm [SII], H-alpha, and [OIII] filters. Mounted on 14" LX200GPS fork and Mitty wedge.

Ha: 6 x 45 minutes
SII: 3 x 45 minutes
OIII: 5 x 45 minutes

Total exposure 10.5 hours. Hubble palette processing.
