zP1040153 William Sitting Bull - completed painting Governors Show.jpg

Loveland, Colorado

Today I attended the painting exhibition by William Sitting Bull (1), who painted from a blank canvas and completed the painting in 2 hours (2). During that time he spoke calmly, often humorously, and purposefully - a story teller indeed. He talked of his people's history, of his art, of his time as a child, his time as an architect. His spirit soars, and he's to be featured in the May-June art magazine "Wildlife Art". After his performance today, the painting was given away via raffle. He posed beside the new and rapidly completed painting. I've seen many of his other paintings. He's a highly talented artist, a well spoken diplomat, a gentle warrior giving the invaders' descendants much to ponder.

I love our Native American history, I can't seem to get enough. My great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee, but I can't seem to find out anything about her and where I come from. I love William Sitting Bull and his beautiful art work!!
