The photo is shot looking towards the Town of Glacier Falls. I was standing adjacent to the wreck-site and on the edge of the driveway into SanSuzEd. The RV Park entrance is near a right turn and, somewhat farther along, a left turn onto the road to Lake Five. Importantly, many big rigs use Highway 2, as do vacationers pulling large trailers or 5th wheels, as well as others driving large motor homes towing "toads" (smaller vehicles). Those larger vehicles may be traveling at 55 mph as they approach the three intersections with Highway 2. Other accidents have happened in this location. Several years ago, the Montana DoT changed the yellow lines from a passing zone to a no-passing zone. That change reflects not only the danger in this stretch of Highway 2 but also reflects the MT DoT's awareness of that danger. A full turn lane would reduce the likelihood of future accidents.
