The photo was taken while I was riding on my first BFC patrol. Cloudy day, buffalo had walked outside Yellowstone National Park and were grazing and resting on National Forest land - which, according to various officials in Montana, is a severe offense. However, the forest land onto which the bison migrate from Yellowstone is adjacent to the Park; and the buffalo's migration is ecologically appropriate. Even if YNP isn't expanded to include the buffalo's migration route, a special-use area - perhaps even a Bison Sanctuary - ought to be created so that the bison can use these National Forest areas each year.
