Dear Friends, The rivers here on the coast are full of fresh water weeds, not enough snowmelt to keep the flow happening and the water is warming so much that the salmon are not coming in. No snow last winter on the coast has left many rivers vulnerable to low water and warming temperatures, stagnant water and weed growth. The loss of our glaciers and lack of snowmelt...general loss of our sacred waters ...has produced devastating effects on the West Coast of Canada as well as globally. Deforestation is speeding up the global warming effect and the loss of forests has produced a lack of moisture and cloud cover as the forests literally create clouds here on the coast through evaporation. We are coming to some crisis and nothing seems to be turning around, the forests are still being logged (old growth) here in Clayoquot for commercial purposes. What about political and coprorate accountability? What is this going to take?Sincerely, Susann Hare
