Haze in western United States

Janis Whitcomb provided the first three images in this gallery, writing "Here is a shot of a Cascade mountains looking east. I had to work hard to bring them out! The second is of the water where it should have been clear, looking north. And the Olympics looking west across the water... The air has gotten awful. We have the same inversions that LA does due to having both a coastal and inland mountain range."

Note: When I shoot smog or haze photos (usually in the Rockies), I select days of high atmospheric pressure and generally low humidity and impose these guidelines as a way to ensure that airborne moisture is not misinterpreted as smog or haze.

Janis's sharing of her haze photos is appreciated.
