Farm Tomita is a world famous attraction for its lavender products.

This was the highlight of our JTB group tour. For a more detailed description of this area, just do an internet search.

We reached Farm Tomita at around 9.30 a.m. We only had around a few hours in our group tour schedule. Soon after, many more tour coaches arrived.

(Since we have been to Keukenhof in Holland many times in spring, we knew that one visit to Farm Tomita would not be enough, so we had arranged an extension after our group tour for a second visit.

We visited it again on Day Six. We took the train from Sapporo around 8.30 a.m. and arrived at the Lavender Farm train station around 11:15 a.m., after a transfer at Ashikawa. We were happy with this second visit because we saw other parts of the farm that we missed out during our short first visit. We had to leave for the last train departing at 4:38 p.m. and reached Sapporo station at around 7.15 p.m.).
