I spent a weekend to meet some affiliates in Bangkok and it turned out to be one full of photo opportunities. I stayed for the first time in Khaosan Road, known to all backpackers visiting Bangkok. Although a short street, it has an extraordinary ambience with a mixed group of a truly international tourist clientele, from singles to pairs to families, and the Thais themselves touring the short street.
While returning to my hotel from a visit to the ruins of Ayutthaya, I stumbled into the opening of a street festival promoting tourism in Thailand. There were classical dancers, folk dancers, drummers, artists, craftsmen, etc. This gallery focuses primarily on the dancers. Although it was very hot (35 degrees Celsius) in the afternoon these dancers did not show any signs of fatigue--real troupers. I am very fortunate to have taken photos up close and personal, as near as three feet away from these performers.
