Kawaguchiko is one of the five lakes from which Mt Fuji can be seen unobstructed.
It took us three hours to reach by train from Tokyo station. In the suburbs we could see many sakura trees still on display. We were hopeful that by the time we reached Kawaguchiko, we would still see many of these trees.
Unfortunately, the same miserable scene appeared as in Ueno. There were only a handful of sakura-rich trees left. We were so disappointed that we left Kawaguchiko after less than an hour to return to Tokyo.
