The Kamo or Duck River is a popular leisure spot for residents, for strolls, cycling or eating under the trees especially during the sakura season.
From the Botanical Garden, we took a long walk across the river and along the river bank on our way to Kitaoji Bus station. This station was our terminal stop back in 2004. From there we would take a bus or subway to other parts of Kyoto. It was also the place where we would often have lunch or dinner when we were staying at a guesthouse.
While walking there we saw another couple having their photoshoot on the other river bank. It reminded me of my safaris in Africa when I had to use my full zoom (300 mm) to shoot leopards, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, etc. from a very far distance.
We also saw schoolkids enjoying their picnic lunch and came across tulips planted on the roadside.
