After our first visit to the Gardens by the Bay South last Thursday, V and I couldn't wait to visit an adjoining attraction, the Marina Barrage. Early Sunday morning (7 a.m.) we took the MRT to Marina Bay station and from there transferred to Bus 400. Marina Barrage was the last stop (right after Gardens by the Bay South). We were greeted with a sight of the Singapore skyline we had never seen before.

We decided to cross the bridge connecting the Barrage to the other side of Kallang River to Gardens by the Bay East. From there, it was a spectacular sight of the Supertrees, the Flower and Forest Domes, Marina Bay Sands Hotel, and the Singapore Flyer.

We decided that we would revisit this part of Singapore one night to capture the sunset and evening skyline.

By around 8.30 we came across solitary and groups of joggers, walkers, cyclists, kayakers, dragon boat paddlers, tai chi enthusiasts and families on their early Sunday morning business.

Returning to the Barrage, we saw community groups and families in their outing and kite-flyers. We walked from the Barrage to the Gardens by the Bay South and re-entered the Flower Dome (with our year-round pass) to take advantage of the air-conditioning. I took some more shots inside, including a bridal couple posing for their album.

After a short rest, we walked out of the Dome to visit the Kingfisher pond. Unfortunately, the water lilies were still scanty as the pond was still new.

We decided to walk around the heritage gardens and I took some more shots of the Supertrees and of MBS hotel from another view point.

It was now past noon. The sun was beginning to be unbearable. We crossed to the MBS convention centre side to take a bus home.
