Bhubing Palace

We had never heard of this place until our private tour driver recommended that we visit Bhubing Palace first before going to Doi Suthep Temple.

We were astounded by the beauty of the gardens, even better than the Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden that we visited on our first day. It reminded us of Monet's Garden in Giverny. We found out it was open whole year round but the best time to visit it is in January, when more flowers are in bloom. We were able to spend only an hour and a half, as we were rushing to Doi Suthep. We couldn't see the whole area. But we will be back for sure and we plan to spend at least four hours the next time. And I'll need to bring my tripod and accessories.

So ends our 5-night visit to Chiang Mai, which we last visited together 20 years ago!
