Bac Ha Sunday market is very popular for tourists. We endured a nine-hour train ride from Hanoi from Friday night, ending in Lao Cai train station. It is about 1 1/2 hours bus ride from Lao Cai to Sapa, where we stayed one night (Saturday). On Sunday, we took an early coach ride to Lao Cai again and then another 1 1/2 hour ride to Bac Ha.

Sunday is the day when villagers from various mountain tribes would do their weekly groceries and trade their products as well in Bac Ha. Their dresses are very colorful. From Bac Ha we took a very short trek to a Flower H'mong village, then to see the border of Vietnam with Kunming, China, and finally to Lao Cai on Sunday night to await for the train to return to Hanoi.
