In spite of the politics-related demonstrations, the class of AIM MBM73 showed their undaunted bravery by visiting Bangkok on February 19 and 20, 2014.

Eighteen classmates (most with their spouses) came at the invitation of our Thai classmate, Ad Chemnasiri, and his lovely wife, Jub. Andy Mendoza and Len came all the way from New Jersey, Toti Deles came alone from Auckland, while Kok Swee and Marieta Foo and yours truly and Veronica came from Singapore. All the rest came from the Philippines. Chelo David came also from the US (Maryland) with two of her brothers from the Philippines.

We stayed at the Grande Centrepoint in Sukhumvit Road, overlooking the junction of Sukhumvit and Asoke. From our room we could see the crowd that had been occupying the junction for weeks. However, we felt quite safe and the demonstration took on a fiesta atmosphere.

Most of the couples proceeded to Chiang Mai, after the two-day Bangkok reunion.

It was a superjob for Ad and Jub and definitely a very memorable one for the class.
