i cannow rest knowing there is no loonger a prison camp on this island. then was troubling memmories in my time there. it is nice to know that the people there no longer look over there shoulders in fear. i cant erase my time there from my memory but maybe things can now be better there. i met some very nice people in the village while stationed in the Navy.

Thanks for your pictures. It reminds me Sri Lanka 30 years ago before investors: there, they destroyed corral reefs to use it, after burning, for cement and the currents change their way and destroyed the beaches, some of them just like divine and so on...That's our world, François
That's paradise to me... time stood still there. In Mexico, you'd have to go back 50 years in time to see that, in Hawaii, 100 years back, in the Caraibeans... 75 years back. I've got images of those places back 30 years, beautiful beaches, and today, it's condos, hotels, resorts... and with it polution, crowds, money... etc.
I hope Phu Quoc remains as it is and resists big developments, but tourism brings money, so... be glad you saw it while it was beautiful.
