Great Nebula in Orion (M42) and Running Man Nebula (NGC 1973, NGC 1975, and NGC 1977)

The Orion Nebula is a diffuse nebula situated in the Milky Way; 1,344 LY from Earth, being south of Orion's Belt in the constellation of Orion. It is one of the brightest nebulae, and is visible to the naked eye in the night sky.

The Running Man Nebula NGC 1977 (also: NGC 1973, 1975 and 1977, Sharpless 279) is a large reflection nebula approximately 1,500 light-years away in Orion.
