Satellite Beach, Florida

Series of five (5) images:

I was watching this Osprey (Top Image) fishing over Satellite Beach when it plunged into the ocean (I assume after a fish).


Somehow it mistimed the entry and ended up in very heavy surf: 2nd and 3rd images.


It was so severley tossed around, I thought this would be the end of this beautiful creature.


However, Ospreys are obviously built to last; as seen in the fourth image; it pulled itself out of the surf, launched, hovered; and shook off the water.


In the final image, the Osprey flies away; seemingly no worse for wear. It did, however, stop, hover and shake off water over the next several minutes.
