I found spirit houses to be fascinating, especially how unique each one can be. For those who don't know, usually a spirit house is placed on a property before a house/building is built. Thai people do this because they believe that spirits are everywhere, and if a house is built for the spirits, it will keep the spirits happy. By making offerings of food and water, Thai people would keep spirits happy, therefore bringing good luck to whoever lives/works on that property. Also, spirit houses are built to give spirits somewhere to live OTHER than their own home.
