papaya drinks and hot dogs seem an unlikely combination, but there are many such emporia in NYC, including King Papaya, Papaya Dog and Gray's Papaya ...the drink is a bit of an acquired taste & usually heavily cut with water & sugar
the progenitor may have been Nedicks, which sadly no longer exists ...they did not have papaya drinks, but I did like their orange drink, which was served in a conical cup
