a new camera means a visit to the DeMenil, though regrettably they are not friendly to photographers, even downright hostile
(one day I may ask HCB to have a word with Ms. DeMenil regarding this)
the sculpture is called Charmstone & was created by Michael Heizer ...it sways in the wind
I wanted to see how well the 14 mm Nikkor prime renders with the D3X
there is a tendency to get a bit sloppy at the edges wide open, but I found no vignetting & stopped down a might, it does just fine
the day was overcast, but even so I am pleased with the DR gotten from the jpg files ...I may finally get me a gel ND grad for this puppy
