Not all of what I do is lettering. The Marina Plaza Shopping Center in San Mateo CA commissions me to liven their windows and beautify the whole center with seasonal images. It's advertising of a different nature, but very effective as people come to the center just to see the new collection that appears every three months. I love letting my imagination flow when I get a job like this!

This summer my chosen theme is marine life, with focus on dolphins, white and brown pelicans, and aquatic sports. Part of my decision must have come from the eruption of oil in our gulf; it's my homage to the sea. Brown pelicans are now back on the endangered species list, just as they had been removed. I wish you could see the paintings in real life, they are more beautiful than the photos I think - I have a hard time keeping the reflected images out of the picture. Thanks to the Marina Plaza Shopping Center staff, who gives me the opportunity to express myself in this way.
