Very nice image! These particular hawks usually feed on rodents; but I imagine they would take a bird if they were hungry (though I have never actually seen it).
Nice shot Art. I agree with Bob, as young hawks often frequent birdfeeders in the winter, until they "sharpen" their hunting skills.

A great captured image of this Red-tailed Hawk. It's being perched on the birdhouse sort of tells a story as to what it's looking for or may be looking for. The detail in the hawk and all the other elements blend together nicely in the image, very nice work.
