He was a funny eccentric guy. From his Elvis Presley impressions to putting
walnuts on his eyelids for a photo, he was always doing something that struck
me as totally hysterical.
Jerry will be remembered by friends and loved ones who cherished his creativity,
his great sense of humor, and brilliant mind. With his photographic memory,
he was a walking encyclopedia able to come up with any fact at a moment's notice.
He loved inovative artists and always stepped up to the plate to get their talents
out to the public. Jerry was a role model for aspiring producers and distributors and
best of all, he was a role model friend. I will miss him greatly.
--Arlene Farber - Actress
Everyone loved Jerry. For his genius and his heart. I've lost only one other
close friend from way back then. That was in 1982. And I lost my brother Joe
in 1980. You can count the big ones on one hand, and somehow
Jerry is one of those to me. --Bill Cannon -Writer "Brewster McCloud"
Jerry could have taken over a major studio; he was billiant. He was like miramax
or New Line today. I doubt there would have been companies like those if there had
not been a Cinemation.
I will always remember his great achievements, his friendship
and his being a fellow member of our group of "younger old-timers"
in the business. Jerry has gone on to a better place, where there are
no under-reported film grosses and no major studio competitors,
who have any better status or clout. All people are equal there.
I am glad to have known Jerry Gross, he was an "original"
and someone who helped inspire my own career.
