This is one of your most expressive images, Richard, because of its simplicity and meaning. If you check the first gallery in my cyberbook, you will see that it is all about what you are doing here -- abstracting the subject, and leaving room for the viewer's imagination to enter the image and make it their own. In the process of abstracting it, you also create two incongruous relationships (hands without arms or body, and passionate hands vs a dispassionate face). You also express various human values -- love, uncertainty, passion, dispassion. You will note that incongruity and human values are the second and third galleries in my cyberbook. Together with abstraction, they make up the basis of photographic expression.
