The theater complex is supposed to look like two durian fruits. We later saw some at the market. They're banned on buses and in hotel rooms because they smell so bad, but they must taste good because people still can't seem to get enough of them.

We had a great view of the old post office, now restored as the Fullerton Hotel. We could see the bumboats, now for tourists, running along the Singapore River.

Then, Chinatown. Buddhist and Hindu temples, and a mosque. And more shops and restaurants.

Our last stop was the Orchard Garden at the Singapore Botanical Gardens. Beautiful! I’ll post more pictures of the gardens later in another gallery (when I get the time). After touring the gardens, we left the group and had a lovely lunch at the restaurant there, surrounded by greenery. Excellent food, and surprisingly reasonable prices. A major find!

Tonight, a tour that includes dinner along the Singapore River at Boat Quay, a bumboat ride, a walk through the night market, and a stop at the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel.

The Star ferries run from the Kowloon side to the Hong Kong side constantly. We took one on our last trip, lots of fun. They’re very cheap, even if you pay the extra for upstairs, where there are benches.

Shopping
Now, this is almost unbelievable. I bought three – yes, that’s right, three – pair of shoes at this store in one of the malls. (I often go a year or more without finding any shoes that fit and feel good. I think three pair at once must be a record of sorts for me, )

Olympics
Hong Kong, of course, will be participating in the Bejing Olympics. They’re getting ready for the torch relay, part of it will be along the waterfront on the Kowloon side.

The Star Ferry Terminal, one of the busiest places around. And that’s saying a lot, because Hong Kong is always crowded!
