A redeveloped University Green, (1992 Rundell-Ernstberger, Landscape Architects) also known as the New North Quadrangle, is framed by classroom buildings developed between the 1970s to the present. The College of Architecture and Planning (1981, Crumlish and Sporleder), Bracken Library (1974, Perkins and Will), Art and Journalism Bldg (2003, Ratio Architects) all face the quadrangle. Shafer Tower, a 44 bell carillon, (Rundell-Ernstberger with Edmund Hafer Associates, Architects) anchors the space.
