Former ethnic German enclave south of downtown, now separated by the I70 loop. German Village includes remnants of ethnicity, but is now mostly known for its cosmopolitanism and tolerance. Home to a competitive real estate market and quaint cafes and restaurants. Schiller Park is included, and marks the neighborhood's southern extents.
