Chazzy and I were up before dawn and on our way to Miller-Welch WMA near Richmond, KY to look for sparrows. We were not disappointed as we found Swamp, White-throated, White-crowned, Lincoln's, Fox, Chipping, Song, and Field. The frost and fall colors made for some spectacular scenery. The pond reveled a Great Blue Heron and an American Coot. I jumped a covey of Quail and Chazzy flushed a Woodcock that sailed about 10 feet in front of me. Both species of Kinglet were spotted as well as Yellow-rumped Warblers. Later, I got to scope a Cooper's Hawk in my backyard. It was a great morning to be out and enjoying nature.
