It was a perfect fall morning as Michelle and I, along with our dog Chazzy, headed out to the Miller Welch WMA near Richmond, Kentucky to see what new species may have arrived. As soon as we stepped out of the truck we started seeing Swamp Sparrows but could not find a Lincoln's in the flocks. Best bird of the day was a Wilson's Warbler with other warblers including Black-throated Green, Common Yellowthroat, and Yellow-rumped. Hickory nuts were everywhere and we tried a few along the way. Fall flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies were numerous, but as the temps climbed into the 70's and we decided to head home. We celebrated 10:10 10-10-10 with a perfect hike on a perfect morning.
