Michelle, Chazzy and I spent a couple hours birding the Miller Welch WMA near Richmond, KY this morning. We found two new species of warbler for 2010, the Common Yellowthroat and the Prairie Warbler - getting great looks at several of each of these species. We also found Gnatcatchers, Red-winged Blackbirds, Wild Turkey, Red-tailed and Cooper's Hawks, Canada Geese, and others. We were expecting to find a White-eyed Vireo or possibly an Indigo Bunting but found neither. We also noted our first Chimney Swifts and Great Egrets of 2010 on Saturday. I also threw in a couple pictures I took of a sunset last week that I thought were interesting.
