Michelle, Chazzy and I noticed the first signs of spring today on our weekly hike up Caney Island Branch. A large butterfly floated by (we did not get an ID) as a Northern Cardinal was in full song on the mountain. Eastern Phoebes were hawking insects, and frogs and eggs were noted in several puddles along the way. Small plants were beginning to sprout along the edges of the road. Spring can't be too far away.
