Birch Knob Hawk Watch 2004

Located in Dickenson County, Virginia on the border of Virginia and Kentucky.

Pictures were taken on September 19, 2004 during a hawk watch by the Buchanan County Bird Club. On that day, 650 Broad-winged Hawks along with 3 Peregrine Falcons were spotted.

Ralph, the pictures were made during a hawk watch on September 19, 2004. I'll post some additional info to the gallery page. I took a look at your galleries - very impressive and the colors were striking. Most of my work in the past has been with video - mostly of birds. I've just starting snapping pictures with a little Coolpix camera in the past couple of years.

Ed, you have some amazing images in all your galleries but the Birch Knob gallery caught my eye in particular. I live within a 20-30 minute drive of the knob and have take many images up the mountain and from the knob. Your fog in the valley images are awesome.
