Michelle, Chazzy and I had a great hike in the Berea Woods this morning. We looped around to West Pinnacle and then to the Indian Fort Lookout. Butterflies and wild flowers were found in good numbers. Warbler species included Common Yellowthroat, Black-and-white, Yellow-throated, Kentucky, Hooded, Ovenbird, Worm-eating, Pine, and others. We also had good looks at male Summer and Scarlet Tanagers, as well as Great-crested and Acadian Flycatchers. A juvenile Red-bellied Woodpecker gave us a show as it flapped its wings for food. It was a great morning to be out hiking.
