The Duck Derby is an annual fundraising event for the local hospital in Port Angeles.
People who want to make a donation "adopt" one or more ducks. Sunday afternoon all the ducks will be dumped into the river.
The first ones to swim downstream and cross the finish line win a selection of prizes including a new Toyota truck.
This year I'm hoping the ducks I adopted will know how to swim. Last year they dawdled along and didn't win a thing.
