Mount Cook National Park was our destination for the last day of the trip. We arrived at the parking area mid-day hoping to find a cafe. No luck. We had a snack in the car and decided to go hiking.
After about an hour we came to this beautiful scenic overlook. Unfortunately the viewpoint for Mount Cook is another mile or more down the trail and into the next valley.
It was a wonderful, hot sunny afternoon, but we had no water bottles and no sunscreen. We decided to call it a day.
