Recently at the Honolulu Airport, travelers turned to see what was happening as several preschool children and their chaperones gathered in one baggage claim area.
Soon songs and laughter were heard as Uncle Billy strummed his ukulele, leading us on an unforgettable journey.
We proceeded from the Baggage Claim area to “Check-in” and Disneyland was the destination of our imaginations. From check in, to boarding the plane to our imaginary destination we got to see and learn the many different aspects of flying.
We got to watch arriving and departing planes and even were treated to a snack of crackers and juice, which the airline would have served to “real” passengers. What excitement!
We are grateful for those parents who are airline employees and those personnel at Aloha Airlines who treated us as VIP (Very Important Preschoolers).
It was a memorable trip and who knows how many preschoolers will be future pilots or flight attendants because of the lasting impressions gained from this experience.
After our imaginary trip, we knew that Kailua Methodist Preschool had earned its wings!
