Erechtheion and Caryatides at Acropolis of Athens.

The Erechtheion is an ancient Greek Ionic temple-telesterion on the north side of the Acropolis, Athens, which was primarily dedicated to the goddess Athena. The building, made to house the statue of Athena Polias. Its precise date of construction is unknown; it has traditionally been thought to have been built from circa 421–406 BC, but more recent scholarship favours a date in the 430s, when it could have been part of the programme of works instigated by Pericles.
A caryatid is a sculpted female figure serving as an architectural support taking the place of a column or a pillar supporting an entablature on her head. The Greek term karyatides literally means "maidens of Karyai", an ancient town on the Peloponnese. The best-known and most-copied examples are those of the six figures of the Caryatid porch of the Erechtheion on the Acropolis at Athens. One of those original six figures, removed by Lord Elgin in the early 19th century, is now in the British Museum in London. The Acropolis Museum holds the other five figures, which are replaced onsite by replicas. The five originals that are in Athens are now being exhibited in the new Acropolis Museum, on a special balcony that allows visitors to view them from all sides.(Wikipedia)

I learned something here. A caryatid is not something I recall, but must have been quite an addition.

Great shot of this iconic scene. I didn't realize the figures were replicas when we visited in 2013 and really sad to have missed the originals while visiting the marvelous museum. V

they look best in situ, even if one is missing due to Elgin's thievery...good you portray the replicas in the context of their setting..
