4 Apr 2005 "Old turkish cafe"

This old turkish cafe is in Komotini, a place in north Greece.
A few words among the men and a lot of silent thinking.

You are so talented for this kind of pictures, for showing in depth this world out of time and so present at once, that I think words and compliments cannot add anything else.
I don't find words, I simply are nicely overwhelmed by sensations.

Many years ago, when visiting Greece, I entered a place like this, much by mistake, but was very interested at the time. This photo brings it back. Nicely done.

Nothing fancy, but what a wonderful place to "hang out" with your thoughts and your countrymen...
Karen Leaf05-Apr-2005 02:01
And a scene repeated all over the country. Outstanding.

Beautiful shot. It's another of those that I could stare at for hours - such a lot to see and to wonder about. This is my favourite type of shot.

great mood in this photo!!!!!!

Your photos depict the Greek people as intense and deep and your portfolio would lead us to believe that you fit that mold as well!
Great sense of understatement about this photo.
Voted.

excellent photo as usual Antonis. i especially liked your caption, it describes the photo very well; notably the part about "few words among the men and a lot of silent thinking." you can see it in the distance between these two men, the lack of eye contact, the downward expression.. a thoughtful scene.
Linda Alstead04-Apr-2005 18:16
oh this is excellent - I love it
Guest 04-Apr-2005 18:11
It's suggestive, makes one look carefully to see what's going on. The surroundings seem barren and cold, the men disengaged. Was it that way?
yosi aptekar04-Apr-2005 18:08
just outstanding.
