25 Mar 2005 "Remembrance day"

No day for art today, but then again an ideal day for art.
Celebrating our liberation from the Turks in 1821 we must remember and honour our predecessors.
Though times may change and today we are striving to be friends with our old enemies.
We may be no match for our forefathers, some might claim.
But we will never forget their battles.
We will never forget that life presupposes freedom and freedom comes through sacrifices: the price to be paid? LIFE ITSELF!
Will this ever end?

At first I was surprised to see the color picture. But, as I started looking at some of your other pictures, I see you know how to carefully use color in your pictures, and when you do, it makes a very powerful, visual statement. This use of color, especially as part of the larger collection, goes a long way to show what the girls and their costumes represent.
