A priceless capture of a moment, where the father's look is the crown of an excellent photo.

Dear Jerry,
This is a Leica capture. I used Canon to copy the negative with a macro lense and a duplicator tube, as i explain to the tech notes.
Guest 01-Mar-2005 14:31
The choice of sephia add a perfect drama to the already great picture.
You always get that Leica's point of view even with your Canon ;)

This is really good... Really good. The expression is caught perfectly, the composition is right. The treatment is right.

It's all been said so I'll just vote. A triumph of a photo.

Too bad pbase popular photos has been broken for a month now. What the f**k?
Guest 28-Feb-2005 10:49
wonderful - nice to see the father as the main focal point, rather than the mother, as is more usually done.
Guest 28-Feb-2005 08:37
Excellent shot Antonis, the toning is great! A suggestion would have been to not crop the lady's hair, and part of the baby's head, but given the your main subject is the male I can see why you decided to do so. What I really like about this photo is how you captured the moment, and the join of introducing a new member of the family

This image oozes emotion...fantastic!
Cliff28-Feb-2005 06:06
The expression of pride in this father's eyes, that you have captured on film is exquisite. A masterful photograph.

I like how you've captured this as a candid and not waited for all to pose formally. There is a feeling of life in this image. Tones are excellent.

this is a beautiful portrait Antonis! i think Passeggeri said it best when he said "there is so much to discover in this scene", from the proud man holding the baby, to the woman playing with the baby, and finally to the baby. what really gives this photo such amazing emotional impact is the "sense of motion". there's activity going on, with the woman interacting with the baby, but this man, looking up and smiling, kind of rises above the action and it is as if time was frozen in that very instant.

this is an absolute classic shot! i love it! voted.

A very good picture, you "immobilized" a very rich moment, there is so much to discover in this scene.
Interesting also the choice of the nuance of colour.
jude27-Feb-2005 17:47
Great the way the woman is so intent on the baby and the man is proudly looking at the camera.. very well done
Guest 27-Feb-2005 17:37
The man's expression is a great picture!
I just read a photography magazine about a picture of Albert Einstein shot, I am seeing a similarity here, except the cropping :)
