Canon 40D Portrait

These pictures were taken hand held with some "not so professional" lights that I had collected here and there for a few dollars together with bed sheet, paper, plastic bag...instead of soft box, umbrella...Just for a quick test.

I am an amateur photographer and I was asked to do photography for a family reunion. I think there will be candid shots and they want to do individual family shots. I have a 40D can you recommend a lighting set up and lens. Thanks I really love your work. Msearthtonez AT yaho...

Million thanks to Sue Weisensel for helping me "step by step" in creating the mat for this frame in the photoshop. As you can see, It greatly improves the look of the picture by adding a true-to-life feeling to the frame. This is the link to her PBase site and her great works.

Your portraitures are always inspiring. The clarity, the compositions, the colors.. I just cannot seem to match it. Whether it's family, models, you know how to handle the lighting and compositions.
