She's a sweetie... But a couple of hours later she tried to scratch my eyes out. :-) Minnie has had a tough life so far. She tried to leave her former home a couple of times obviously, once even trying to flee by car (really, she got into a car and hid there for a day). :-) That was her best try at that time, she made it into a shelter in a town 15 km away, but her former owners found her there.
Since she moved in with us, she became a lot more trusting. She still doesn't like to be picked up or to feel even remotely cornered. Well, that's hugely euphemistic - she will, as I said, try to take your eyes out or she bites very hard into your arm. All that without the remotest hint or warning. I have never before seen that in a cat. She has bitten me more than once so hard that I had several bleeding wounds. Still, I love her. Isn't it strange (but wonderful) that you still can talk soothingly to a cat while she tries to bite your arm off? We both learn - she learns that she can "talk" to me instead of launching an immediate attack, and I get to know her bruised mind.
