Pictures from the airshow 31 Aug 2008. Shoreham is usually one of my favourite airshows - great displays against a great backdrop. But this year - as with so many other events - the weather was against it with low cloud and mist. Many displays just didn't get off the ground, and others could not make it to the show because of the weather where they were based. Kudos particularly to the Swift Team who displayed under clouds that had got very low by the end of the afternoon: Guy Westgate displayed his aerobatic glider under a cloudbase of just a few hundred feet.
Adding insult to injury, my lens refused to talk to my camera, so I had to judge exposures from the histogram of previous shots: not the recommended procedure. Anyhow, here are a few of the ones I managed to get.
