Hothfield Common SSSI

Hothfield Common is very close to where we live, and it is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The site is supposed to be particularly valuable for its acid bogs and vast variety of invertebrates (PDF), although by eye, the most successful of these must be the spiders, whose webs are everywhere while walking the dog early in the morning.
