Hothfield Common SSSI
Hothfield Common
is very close to where we live, and it is a
Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)
. The site is supposed to be particularly valuable for its
acid bogs and vast variety of invertebrates (PDF)
, although by eye, the most successful of these must be the spiders, whose webs are everywhere while walking the
dog
early in the morning.
