A trip to Beachy Head for the Eastbourne Airshow, 15 August 2014. The stars of the show were to be the unique pair of Lancasters: the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's PA474 "Thumper" and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Mk X C-GVRA "Vera". They put on a wonderful set of passes with two BBMF Spitfires (LF XVI TE311 and PRXIX "The Last"), although rather too far out to sea for my 400mm lens to get closeups. The weather was mixed to poor, so the BBMF Dakota displayed in the rain, while my camera was safely stowed away. Peter Teichman in Jumpin' Jaques, the Norwegian Heritage Vampire and the RAF Tutor all came close enough for closeups, as did the Red Arrows. All told, a good day out in great company, even if the photographic opportunities were limited.
